Question: How do you get the wire hot enough to melt the solder without burning up the wire itself? I'm dealing with turntable phono cartridge wire and the wire melts faster than the solder.

I was going to build an arcade stick with a 3 pin led capable pcb but only needed 2 cables for each button, knowing i can take the unused cables out while keeping the 3 pin connectors without damaging the cables is great, since i can save them in case i want to buy led buttons in the future. Thx a lot for the info.

I wish I had your eyes. Mine are not very good anymore since I was diagosed with gloucoma. I do have some good magnifier lenses though. What kind of pin did you use to lift up that plastic tab? Is it just a sewing needle. I bought some stepper motor wires and acording to the reviews on Amazon the two middle wires need to be swapped so they will work on my Creality 3D printer.

Brilliant. I was about to bail until you popped up the micro view. So so helpful while I'm rewireing some flipsky connections where they change connectors so NOTHING is plug n play. In fairness, they do include enough extra cabling to hook it up - once you understand how to R&R the individual leads. Thanks so much!

Brilliant, and gives me confidence to replace battery in my Garmin 910XT sports watch. The battery has three wires red, black and green. Is there any chance of damaging the battery by the sequence (rgb <> gbr <> brg ) of soldering? I worry because the new battery may be partially charged, the Iron is earthed, and the watch circuitry has no visible internal Isolation Switch (all the on/off/etc functions are via the micro chip circuitry).

1:40 Dont always change the blades like that, the chances of the fresh blade in cutting your finger is high. I had an experience in which I cutted my nerve in the left thumb, so much blood was lost. In my case the blade was not on any table or something, just on my hand, but always be careful. Edit : spelling mistake
